Experiencing Tulum, Mexico: Beaches, Culture, and Hidden Gems
From the moment I arrived in Tulum, Mexico, I was completely enchanted. It was the lush jungle surroundings that feels both vibrant and serene at the same time. I loved exploring the town’s colorful streets, devouring authentic Mexican cuisine, and discovering hidden cenotes tucked away from the crowds. But what truly captivated me were the ancient Mayan ruins perched above the Caribbean, a reminder of Tulum’s rich history and culture. We booked this tour which took us to the Tulum Mayan ruins , Cave exploring , and swimming in a cenote. We also had lunch . The tour was the best way to spend a half – day seeing some of Tulum’s most visited sites.

Where we stayed and what we did while Visiting Tulum
Our first option is to always be by the sea so we booked seven nights at Zereno and it was such a great choice! Zereno is more of an apartment but has that luxury hotel vibe. There’s a beautiful pool and bicycles for getting around . It’s located about 3 km from Las Palmas beach which was an easy trip on the bikes! It’s a public beach but nice and well maintained since all of the main hotels , nightclubs and discos are around here .
Ziggy’s Beach Club – that was our spot . I got a dress from one of those hot influencers that strut up and down the beach peddling clothes and we drank Mezcal and ate tacos for lunch everyday . I’d buy candy from the kids and Kopal or something from the locals.

A place worth mentioning is Fitalicious Cafe. We loved Fitalicious — so much that we went back for both breakfast and lunch during our stay. The location is central, easy to reach from anywhere, and surrounded by Tulum’s relaxed vibe. The owner is incredibly friendly, and made us feel so welcome. The food is fresh, clean, and healthy — everything from smoothie bowls to colorful salads. There’s a great selection of protein powders , supplements , and healthy snacks . It’s a spot that feels romantic for couples yet equally comfortable for families, the kind of place that captures Tulum’s balance of wellness and warmth. We ventured out a few more places into the city center but I REALLY liked the area we stayed in .
